I’m from Fayetteville, North Carolina. Um, I grew up there. I spent some time in Germany because I was a military brat. I went to North Carolina, A and T um, graduated with a degree in architectural engineering. And I moved out here for a job with the army Corps of engineers. That’s been great. I mean, the job is awesome.
I learn every day. So research based job. You can’t help, but learn. Soon as I moved out here, I knew that I wanted to save to invest. I saw people do real estate, or it was a hobby or something like that, but it flipped to, okay, this is something that we need to do. As soon as I started working, I started saving.
I knew I wanted to do multi-family because I wanted to do a house cat. So I began searching, but I needed the money first. So my ultimate goal. Really extinguish for one to be financially free. I want to be able to provide for my family. And then I’m also very passionate about helping people. I mean, I can’t help people if I’m not writing myself Smith, Jerome, my senior at North Carolina, A and T um, he came back and helped out with some projects.
We did some projects for them. If we were the architect for Jerome’s development, I still remember that project. I called it a tiny Meyer. It was. Group of six tiny homes. I stay connected with them LinkedIn. And when I moved and really got serious about real estate, I saw that he was teaching real estate, buy real estate on my connected with them.
He was helping me and giving me tips and I still make mistakes even then by myself because I didn’t, I guess I got overconfident. I have some points to where I felt like, okay, I have enough information to make this move, but ended up still making mistakes. But like I said, he’s been helping me for a year through his podcast.
And then some one-on-one meetings. Once I realized I made those mistakes and I started, he has a course. I was like, it’s time to. Education and gear right? Real estate. Like, I didn’t know everything that could go wrong. So that’s why I was so competent podcast. And of course, as you’re helping me learn those things, I would have to stay in the market analysis, learning how to pick your markets strictly based off of data.
That’s a big highlight. I feel like I’m very good at it now because of the course.
